Course Overview

With increased access to digital devices, children have started to create digital footprints and online identities which affect their personal security and privacy. This camp will prepare elementary school students to be safe in the digital world by fostering and facilitating the dynamics of healthy online behaviors focusing on topics including cyberbullying, digital security, and privacy footprint, and netiquette. Students will put their investigative skills to work by trying to uncover an online mystery! Children will also interact with guest speakers and explore cybersecurity careers.

This camp is designed to be collaborative, interactive, and informative where campers will investigate real-world scenarios and learn how to make smarter choices online while unmasking characters’ true identities. Throughout the week, campers will meet professionals who apply digital safety practices in their careers. Students will show what they have learned by creating their own digital comic strip.

This camp is offered at a lower rate because of the funding received by the National Science Foundation. As a result your campers will be invited to participate in activities to support research on learning on digital security.
