Niner Academy: Public Service Careers Academy offers students in grades 9–12 an inside look at essential public safety professions and the people who perform them every day.

Through interactive experiences and real-world training scenarios, students learn what it takes to keep communities safe, prepared, and resilient.

Discover Public Safety Careers

Throughout the week, students explore three major public service pathways: law enforcement, firefighting, and emergency medical services (EMS). Each day offers hands-on lessons led by experienced professionals, giving students a front-row seat to the tools, strategies, and teamwork used by first responders.

Law Enforcement

• Learn about policing, investigations, and community engagement.
• Participate in demonstrations of safety tactics and communication techniques.
• Understand the skills and responsibilities required to protect and serve.

Firefighting

• Explore firefighting gear, equipment, and emergency response tools.
• Experience simulations that showcase fire safety and rescue operations.
• Learn how firefighters work together under pressure to save lives.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

• Get an introduction to first aid, basic medical assessments, and emergency procedures.
