YWP011 - Writing with a Twist
Course Overview
Does your child love stories? Are they always coming up with “What if…?” scenarios? In Writing with a Twist, kids in grades 3-5 get to flip the script on classic tales and explore how a single change can make a story wildly different! This workshop takes their love for storytelling and spins it around, helping them see old favorites in a whole new way. From switching perspectives (what if Little Red Riding Hood told the story?) to moving the setting (imagine Goldilocks exploring a spaceship!), kids will discover how even the smallest twist can lead to a fresh adventure.
What’s in Store for Your Young Writer:

- Rewrite with Imagination: Experiment with changing key parts of a story—try a new setting, switch genres, or tell it from someone else’s viewpoint.
- Boost Critical Thinking and Creativity: Learn to make smart, creative choices in storytelling that sharpen both imagination and problem-solving.
- Watch a Story Transform: Experience how a tiny tweak, like flipping the hero and the villain, can create an entirely different story!
This isn’t your usual writing class—it’s a chance for your child to become a storytelling wizard! Get ready for a workshop filled with creativity, laughter, and “aha” moments as they learn to reimagine the world through words.
