Course Overview
Help your child build confidence before the North Carolina End-of-Grade (EOG) Math test with UNC Charlotte's End-of-Grade (EOG) Math Prep: One-Day Monster Math Bootcamp. Designed specifically for 3rd and 4th grade students, this engaging one-day workshop combines expert instruction, interactive games, and hands-on activities to strengthen the math skills most commonly assessed on the North Carolina EOG Math exam.
Students will review essential grade-level math concepts while developing effective test-taking strategies and problem-solving techniques. Through exciting monster-themed challenges, participants will practice high-priority math skills, including:
- Multiplication and division
- Fractions and equivalent fractions
- Geometry
- Area and perimeter
- Measurement
- Data analysis and graph interpretation
- Multi-step word problems
- Mathematical vocabulary and reasoning
Hands-On EOG Math Practice
Rather than relying on worksheets alone, students will learn by doing. Throughout the day, they will create and measure their own monsters, explore geometric shapes to determine where their monsters live, and calculate area and perimeter. Students will also complete word-problem hopscotch challenges, investigate fair shares and equivalent fractions, construct and analyze graphs, and collaborate in hands-on math games.
Each activity is designed to reinforce important 3rd and 4th grade math concepts while making North Carolina EOG Math preparation interactive, active, and fun.
What Students Will Gain
By the end of the workshop, students will leave with stronger math skills, greater confidence, and practical strategies for solving complex, multi-step problems. Participants will also gain experience selecting efficient problem-solving approaches and using math vocabulary to explain their reasoning.
