Building Bridges Scholarship

The Building Bridges Scholarship was designed by UNC Charlotte’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) to recognize and celebrate individuals who exemplify inclusive leadership and make a significant impact in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within their profession.

Through this scholarship, SPS seeks to enable passionate and dedicated individuals to enroll in our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certificate to further their education, gain insight into their own perceptions and contribute to positive change in their organizations and communities. The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certificate is a professional development certificate program designed for anyone interested in creating an inclusive and equitable culture in the workplace and their communities.

Scholarship Details

• For the spring 2024 start date, the scholarship will award $420 to two individuals who are newly enrolled in the full Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program on or after January 1, 2024. Applicants must be enrolled in all four courses during the spring 2024 semester.
• The application deadline is December 8, 2023. Winners will be notified on January 5, 2024.
• An ideal scholarship candidate is someone who:
  • Demonstrates that they have the ability to successfully complete the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Certificate
  • Can describe their plans to mentor or support other underrepresented individuals pursuing a career in their field.
  • Can demonstrate leadership in fostering an inclusive and diverse environment within their organization or community.
• The scholarship is only available for new students enrolling in spring 2024 with the intent of completing the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion program by semester’s end.
