Building Bridges Scholarship

The Building Bridges Scholarship was designed by UNC Charlotte’s School of Professional Studies to recognize and celebrate individuals who exemplify inclusive leadership and make a significant impact in fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within their profession.

Through this scholarship, SPS seeks to enable passionate and dedicated individuals to enroll in our Meeting and Event Planning Certificate to further their education, enhance their leadership skills and contribute to positive change in their organizations and communities. The Meeting and Event Planning Certificate is a professional development certificate program designed for individuals seeking to build or expand their knowledge and experience within the Meeting and Event Planning field.

Scholarship Details

• For the Spring 2025 start date (March 27, 2025), the scholarship will award $1,000 to one individual enrolling in the Meeting and Event Planning Certificate.
• The application deadline is January 15, 2025. Winners will be notified by January 24, 2025.
• An ideal scholarship candidate is someone who:
  • Demonstrates that they have the ability to successfully complete the Meeting and Event Planning Certificate.
  • Can describe their plans to mentor or support other underrepresented individuals pursuing a career in their field.
  • Can demonstrate leadership in fostering an inclusive and diverse environment within their organization or community.

• The scholarship is open to prospective and current Meeting and Event Planning Certificate participants for Spring 2025.
