Course Overview

Get ready to travel the globe through art! In this immersive, week-long camp, middle school artists will explore how creators from around the world use color, pattern, and storytelling to express their traditions, ideas, and identities. From the bold symbols of African Adinkra cloth to the intricate designs of Native American weaving, and from Australian Aboriginal dot paintings to the vibrant mosaics and flamenco-inspired art of Spain, campers will discover how creativity connects cultures—and people—across the globe. Each day brings a new destination and a new medium to explore, with hands-on projects such as textile printing, clay design, painting, and mosaic-making. By week’s end, campers will have created a collection of artworks celebrating the beauty and diversity of global artistic traditions—and the power of art to unite us all.
